If you didn't already know, there is an Achievement for completing all of the Holiday Achievements that earn you a title, e.g. the Noble or Flame Keeper. The final super Achievement, What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been, rewards you with a Violet Proto-Drake. Aside from being a cool-looking mount, it's reported to have a 310% speed boost, as opposed to the 280% from current mounts.
To get the holiday Achievements, you have to actively pursue all of the sub-Achievements for the given Holiday. For many of the holidays, you also need to be high level, e.g., having to kill King Ymiron in Utgarde Pinnacle for Hail to the King, Baby, which you can't even enter until you are level 75 or higher. So, unless you are Level 75, no Patron or Matron title for you.
Well, with all of my characters finally at Level 80, I actually have the opportunity to do every event with my characters and get a Violet Drake for everyone. But wow, that's TEN characters. OK, daunting, but not impossible.
But then the Midsummer Festival showed up. This is quite possibly one of the MOST time consuming Holidays out there. Racing through gankfests to get flames from enemy cities and riding and flying all over Kalimdor, the Eastern Kingdoms, and Outland to honor and desecrate every flame.
But hey, two weeks is a lot of time, right? No problem!
But then...my wife and I were hit by a stomach bug during the first week. By the time my wife and I jumped on our mains to do the events for the first time, the event was half over. Only one week was left.
Even worse, it took over six hours for us to finish it and I did not have 54+ hours to run my alts through it.
So, I sat down and worked out some routes that would take full advantage of Hearth Stones. You see, since I am running nine characters through at once, I just need a given leg to last at least 3.5 minutes for my Hearth Stones to never be on cooldown. I set up paths so that travel time was minimal and set out on my way, leading with the Enemy Capital quests.
And by Thursday evening, I had ten Flame Keepers!
Of course, because of the Achievement from Children's Week that required entry to Utgarde Pinnacle, the earliest I will have ten Violet Proto-Drakes will be May, 2010, but at least it's possible now.
Side note: Oh, and wow did I make a ton of money. Hitting every fire at level 80 is about 900 Gold.

Great blog. I would love to know what your path was for these, as I plan to have my mount by Flame Keepter time next year. ;-) Advice is ALWAYS welcome. XD
Thank you for the kind words. I specifically decided not to include my route so as not to inspire would be gankers to camp said route.
What I will say is this. I looked at the ways I could cross the globe quickly, e.g. portals, zeppelins. Then I looked at places where I ended up in the middle of nowhere, e.g. the Night Elf island in Feralas, and hearthed back from there.
I did Exodar and Darnassus as a duo, picking up the starter zone fires at the same time. I found it easiest to end with Teldrassil, because it puts you deep in enemy territory, so it saves time and repair bills to just hearth out.
I did Ironforge and Stormwind as a duo as well. I will only say that you should consider the related starter zone fires and the location of the tram in your deliberations.
Outland is easy, pick a spot and fly in a big circle, ending at the dark portal, then go through and get some there too.
Really, you can do it any way you like. If you always avoid long backtracks or long flights, you should be OK. Just use the maps on wowwiki to plan your routes.
