Altosis - Origins

Welcome to my blog!

I play World of Warcraft (WoW) quite a lot. I like playing all of the classes and races. I am not afraid to read and experiment with talent builds and tactics.

This blog serves both a selfish desire to have a place to keep my observations and notes on playing WoW and the altruistic desire to share information with others and hopefully help them achieve their in-game goals. Hopefully, this will also bring about world peace and end hunger, but I am not sure how just yet.

Why "Altosis"? Well, as I mentioned, I like playing lots of characters. If you're not an avid player of MMORPGs, you typically have a main character, or main, and your others are alternate characters, or alts. I have lots of alts. In fact, I have leveled every class to the endgame (although my Paladin is just getting there). So, I must be crazy. "-osis" is a medical suffix tacked onto to something to indicate a condition, disease, or abnormal process. Hence, I arrived at Altosis.

This is not to be confused with altitis, mind you. That would mean that I had an inflammation or irritation of my alts, like this poor soul on altitis.treehuggers.info [link updated 2007.12.07]. Maybe there is an ointment for that.

As for me, my main is Skindancer, an officer, raid leader, and main tank in the Grim Legion guild on the Kirin Tor server. I try to use my experience with other classes to help me be a better group leader by understanding more intimately the capabilities and limitations of the various classes.

So, you should expect to see a wide variety of discussion across all classes here. Let's hope it's reasonably coherent.

Well, never actually levelling the vast majority of a huge alt farm to endgame is indeed an irritation, and there's little in terms of remedies.

BTW, Altitis has moved and now posts about inflammatory stuff from altitis.treehuggers.info.
Welcome to the WoW blogging community, looking forward reading from you.

I understand completely. I killed off my entire Alliance alt stable until I get all of my Horde alts to 70 (soon, very soon).

Thanks for the update, I have updated the original post with the new information.
